A wonderful trip starts with ideas. Keeping track of those ideas, reservations, and little details can become a trip of its own.
My Next Adventure gives them a practical home. Begin in Preplanning: collect must-see attractions, things to do, shops and markets, and restaurants you would like to try. Must-see attractions have four pages with room for 12 entries. Things to do, shopping, and restaurants each have two pages with six entries. Roomy boxes hold names, locations, planning details, websites, and notes. Use the included budget spreadsheet to plan your costs, check off packing essentials, add your own items, and use the travel reminders to prepare for departure.
Then move into Final Itinerary. Record outbound and return or onward flight details, airport times, confirmation numbers, and airport transportation. A separate ground-travel page holds car, bus, and train arrangements. Three accommodation pages keep addresses, check-in and check-out, booking details, contact information, payments, and stay notes together.
Fourteen daily itinerary pages give each day space to breathe. Put the date and location once at the top. Use the left column for times, activity names, and plans for breakfast and morning, lunch and afternoon, and dinner and evening. Keep the booking company, exact meeting place, confirmation, contact information, and notes in the right column beside the activity.
Useful contacts, backup plans, memories, and extra notes round out the planner. Small travel illustrations and the Basecamp Compass colors make it welcoming while leaving room for the information that matters.
The included Travel Budget and Expense Tracker is a separate XLSX spreadsheet with everything on one worksheet. Enter payments in the expense log on the left. Set your overall trip budget and category allowances on the right. The spreadsheet calculates total spending, money left, percentage of budget used, money left to allocate, and spending and remaining amounts for each category. A spending chart updates from the expense log. Fourteen categories keep flights, accommodation, transportation, car rental, tours, food, shopping, attractions, gifts, insurance, and travel fees separate, with Other and two custom categories. Sixty expense rows include date, description, category, payment method, amount paid, who paid, and notes.
The PDF has 303 independent text fields and 40 interactive checkboxes. Type on a phone, tablet, or computer in a compatible PDF form app, or print the pages for handwriting. Budget calculations are handled in the separate spreadsheet, using a compatible spreadsheet app.
Save a fresh copy for each trip. Use fewer daily pages for a shorter journey. A PDF editor can remove pages or add more; duplicated fillable fields need independent names so entries stay separate. No Canva editing is required.
